Historic Brawl fans can Rejoice! Wizards of the Coast‘s plans to introduce 100-card Historic Brawl queues may have been delayed, but they did give us a 100-Card Historic Brawl Fest event starting today! The event will run from today until August 24th, which is when the back end updates will be implemented. Getting your first win in the event will award you with 3000 XP towards your Mastery Pass. The best part about this is that it’s free entry!
Decks to Try
We’ve done some deck guides on 100-Card Historic brawl in the past, so we’ll leave you with a few lists that you can try and build for the queues.
Golos, Tireless Pilgrim
This
Golos, Tireless Pilgrim

{2}{W}{U}{B}{R}{G}: Exile the top three cards of your library. You may play them this turn without paying their mana costs.
Deck is one of my own creation. This deck aims to take advantage of a lot of ramp to gain incremental value from
Field of the Dead

{T}: Add {C}.
Whenever this land or another land you control enters, if you control seven or more lands with different names, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token.
and to also have enough mana to be able to use Golos’s activated ability to find some haymakers off the top of the deck. This deck has a pseudo-cascade subtheme as well with some of the card choices here. This is definitely one of my favorites and I urge you to give it a try.
Omnath, Locus of Creation
Next up is
Omnath, Locus of Creation

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, you gain 4 life if this is the first time this ability has resolved this turn. If it's the second time, add {R}{G}{W}{U}. If it's the third time, Omnath deals 4 damage to each opponent and each planeswalker you don't control.
. The name of the game is pure ramp, and hopefully abusing Omnath’s multiple triggered abilities. Our goal is to get to as high of mana as possible and cast some big dumb spells to win the game.
Codie, Vociferous Codex
Next is
Codie, Vociferous Codex

{4}, {T}: Add {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}. When you next cast a spell this turn, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile an instant or sorcery card with lesser mana value. Until end of turn, you may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Put each other card exiled this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.
. This is a spells cascade deck that wants to get Codie down quick, activate his ability and cast a big spell, which will “cascade” into another spell that’s cheaper than the one we cast. We play some ramp, some removal, some card draw, and some extra turn spells. One of our win conditions is Approach of the Second Son, and with the amount of control that we play, we should be able to get to cast it a second time to win.

Muldrotha, the Gravetide
Our next deck is
Muldrotha, the Gravetide

When Gyruda enters, each player mills four cards. Put a creature card with an even mana value from among the milled cards onto the battlefield under your control.
as our companion. This deck looks to abuse Gyruda’s enter the battlefield ability, and Muldrotha’s ability to cast spells from the graveyard for massive value. We have a lot of enter the battlefield triggers so we definitely look to abuse that with
Panharmonicon

Emiel the Blessed
Lastly is
Emiel the Blessed

Whenever another creature you control enters, you may pay {G/W}. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on it. If it's a Unicorn, put two +1/+1 counters on it instead. ({G/W} can be paid with either {G} or {W}.)
. This is a pretty fair deck to be honest. It’s a green white blink deck, that has a lot of enter the battlefield effects and looks to abuse that as much as possible. There’s a lot to like about this deck, and with Historic Horizons there’s a lot of great additions for this one. This is a great place to start in preparation for when that set comes out and we can add to this deck.

I’m very excited to play in the 100-Card Historic Brawl queues, as it’s about as close to commander as we can get. What decks are you excited to play in the format? Let us know in the comments!
