During yesterday’s Wizards Presents 2022, Wizards of the Coast revealed all about what’s coming to Magic in 2023. This event included fantastic announcements about Universes Beyond, the Phyrexian arc, and more to come in 2023. Alongside these tantalizing reveals and plenty of Dungeons & Dragons news, WotC also announced a brand new set launching in 2023. Dubbed Dominaria Remastered, this new draft set will take us back in time throughout the history of Magic’s first plane.
It’s All Dominaria Now

Hearing the name Dominaria Remastered, you might be a little confused. After all, the set named Dominaria launched pretty recently, in 2018. Dominaria is also appearing in the next set, Dominaria United, which is currently the talk of the town. It’s safe to say that after Wizards Presents, we’re a little overloaded with Dominaria right now. Despite this, Dominaria Remastered may actually be one of 2023’s most exciting sets for many players.
To set some things straight, Dominaria Remastered isn’t just a rerelease of 2018’s Dominaria. Instead, Dominaria Remastered is a limited print run set that contains cards from 27 previously released sets located in and around Dominaria. This makes Magic’s latest remastered set more akin to a Masters set rather than Time Spiral Remastered. According to Wizards Presents presenter Jimmy Wong this set “really is a culmination of everything Magic has done on this plane in the past 30 years.”
“You will be able to recreate that feeling of early Magic sets,” Jimmy Wong stated. By bringing back “classic draft archetypes,” Dominaria Remastered should be a set “which longtime fans are going to love revisiting.” Alongside being a complete Draft set to enjoy, Dominaria Remastered will also feature Collector Boosters. These Collector Boosters will, as usual, feature “alternate versions of popular cards.” For better or worse, however, this doesn’t mean a new unique foiling technique. Instead, the remaster’s Collector Boosters will feature borderless art and retro-inspired frames.
Force of Will

Only a single pair of cards have been spoiled for Dominaria Remastered. Despite this, there’s plenty to be excited about, as these spoilers will sell stacks of packs. The biggest of these spoilers,

, is a card that we’ve seen time and time again. Most recently, Force of Will was reprinted in Double Masters, which launched in 2020.
Force of Will is still a tremendously expensive card despite being fairly recently reprinted. Typically costing around $100+ for a near-mint version, Legacy players will no doubt be excited that prices could take a tumble. With multiple printings in Collector Boosters, there should still be plenty of money to be made as well.

The Juicy Details

Now that we’ve looked at the pair of Dominaria Remastered cards spoiled thus far, it’s time to cover the rest of what we do and don’t know about this set. First off, the release date. Dominaria Remastered is currently planned to release on January 13th, 2023, according to Amazon. Hopefully, this product shouldn’t be delayed since it’s a limited print run.
Thanks to the trusty Amazon listing, we know the price of Dominaria Remastered products. With Draft Booster boxes retailing at $177.00 and Collector Booster boxes retailing for $267.48, preorder prices are pretty similar to Dominaria United. As a limited-run product, these prices are likely to increase over time, especially if there are more cards like

spoiled in the future.
There is no word on whether Dominaria Remastered will release on MTG Arena. While there is there possibility since it is a complete Draft set, that doesn’t mean it’ll automatically see an Arena release.
