MTG Players Disappointed by Unplayable Two-Mana 8/8
Personally, I absolutely love the mini-spoiler seasons that Alchemy sets get. Honestly, I might even enjoy them more than main-set spoilers. Seeing what the MTG Arena design team can come up with is always a real treat, especially when things get weird. As much as I love them, however, I understand not everyone loves Alchemy […]
Former Standard Staple Spikes 673% Following Aetherdrift Resurgence
In its heyday, Raffine, Scheming Seer was an absolute monster of an MTG card. Empowering the titular Esper Raffine archetype, this card completely dominated Standard into becoming a bland midrange soup. The Storm Scale is a list created by legendary MTG designer Mark Rosewater that depicts how likely a specific MTG mechanic is to make a return. While some mechanics, like Flying or Menace, are essentially guaranteed to appear in any set, other mechanics can be rather harmful to Magic’s ecosystem. Take Dredge, for example. The […]
MTG Aetherdrift Draw Spell Spikes 1857% After Pro Tour Win
Pro Tour Aetherdrift turned out to be quite a surprising turn of events. Rather than Esper Pixie running rampant, Domain Overlords stole the show, winning the event in the hands of Matt Mass. While this was already quite a surprise the impact of new Aetherdrift cards was even more remarkable. Within the winning list from […]
