MTG Avatar Spoilers Reveal Obscene Mana Dork and Extra Turns Generator
At long last, the spoiler season for Magic’s take on Avatar: The Last Airbender has finally begun. While we got some powerful early spoilers that stand a chance in multiple formats, we can’t really say the same about today’s offerings. There are some incredibly powerful cards here, but much of what was spoiled today was […]
Hilarious Avatar Secret Lair Features Flavorful Staples and Dismal Value
Whether you love or hate Universes Beyond crossovers, there’s no denying how flavorful the Avatar: The Last Airbender is. The new “Bending” mechanics do a great job showcasing what each character is all about, and the artwork on the bonus sheet reprints makes you feel like you’re right there in the Avatar universe. Despite all […]
MTG x PlayStation Almost Fixed Secret Lair’s Fatal Flaw
At this point, the problems with Secret Lair drops are well known. Even ignoring the often stingy reprint selection and dubious themes, the real issue is accessibility. Time and time again, we’ve seen exciting Secret Lair drops sell out in hours. This alone would be frustrating, but technical constraints and hours-long queues make it unacceptable. […]

At long last, MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender spoilers are due to start today. We’re hours away from the big Debut livestream and WeeklyMTG aftershow, which will unleash a new tide of spoilers. As we await inevitable changes to the Standard format, it appears Wizards is taking initiative to help address […]

Far beyond just being useful in some niche Commander decks, this card feels like a retrain of an overpowered icon. Admittedly, while this card follows in The One Ring’s footsteps, it is missing a few key […]
Teased $60 Phyrexian Altar Reprint Is Concerningly Good
Recently, Wizards of the Coast has rather worryingly been taking away suitable sources for reprints. Masters Sets have gone the way of the dodo, and bonus sheets are getting rarer and rarer nowadays. Sadly, this leaves Secret Lair drops as one of the few remaining avenues for non-Standard legal reprints, which isn’t ideal. Since Secret […]
MTG Assassin’s Creed Legend Spikes 278% Thanks to God of War Synergies
Thanks to a series of recent reveals, a handful of underrated EDH tools have risen in price thanks to their synergies with new Universes Beyond cards. The popularity of Anti-Venom caused multiple spikes, and the reveal of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles caused a surge in demand for Taeko, the Patient Avalanche. Now, it appears […]
Magic’s Best Saga Earns Exciting Secret Lair Reprint
Back in September at MagicCon: Atlanta, Wizards revealed the return of the Countdown Kit Secret Lair. Dubbed “An Encyclopedia of Magic,” this product contains 26 unique reprints, all starting with a different letter of the alphabet. While $199.99 is a lot to pay for a Secret Lair, we’ve already seen some pricy spoilers that could […]
