The biggest price spike of the week goes to Cavalier of Thorns which shot up from $2.00 to $11.00. This is because Mono-Green Ramp took first place in a recent Pioneer Challenge featuring a full four copies of Cavalier.

+1: Put three +1/+1 counters on up to one target noncreature land you control. Untap it. It becomes a 0/0 Elemental creature with vigilance and haste that's still a land.
−8: You get an emblem with "Lands you control have indestructible." Search your library for any number of Forest cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

Korvold, Fae-Cursed King
I wrote an article earlier this week about all the new toys Korvold gained from New Capenna. Korvold really did get a big power boost from the set, both in Commander and Pioneer, which is why it rose from $9.00 to $15.00 this week.

Mystical Dispute
It is a little strange, but Mystical Dispute is currently the most played card in Pioneer. According to MTG Goldfish, 39% of decks play the card. Taking this into consideration, it isn’t surprising that Mystical Dispute rose from $1.00 to $3.00+ this week.

New Capenna Preorder Prices
It can be tempting to indulge in a new Magic set’s hype. But until that set is officially released, preorder prices are typically inflated beyond reason.

saw preorder prices around $35.00. Today is the first day New Capenna is officially out and Xander plummeted to $5.00.
If you are excited about any New Capenna singles, this opening weekend can be a good time to find bargain prices.
Maze’s End
Maze’s End spiked last week when a Magic player leaked several new Gate-related cards from the upcoming set, Battle for Baulder’s Gate. Because of this, Maze’s End went from about $1.00 to $11.00 overnight.
But since then, the hype for Baulder’s Gate died down a bit. Consequently, the prerelease version of Maze’s End fell all the way back down to about $3.00-$4.00, and the regular art version is currently about $7.00. This may change once the official spoiler season for Baulder’s Gate begins.
