Today begins the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt preview season! Across the next week, we’ll see cards from the upcoming gothic horror set. This is our third return to Innistrad with an emphasis on Werewolves with Innistrad: Crimson Vow focusing on Vampires.
Over on Magic Twitch and YouTube earlier today, we saw a bunch of new and exciting cards revealed from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. The stream was hosted by The Command Zone’s Jimmy Wong and actor Joe Manganiello, who also appeared on a recent episode of Game Knights. Let’s take a look at what cards were previewed in the stream!
Arlinn, the Pack’s Hope
Alinn, the Pack’s Hope / Arlinn, the Moon’s Fury was accidentally leaked yesterday, but now has been confirmed. We see 3 different version of the new Planeswalker. In addition to the Normal and Borderless versions of the cards, we see the new Equinox Showcase frame. This is one of the two different showcase frames in this set, and it shows an almost sketch / watercolors art style and a harvest themed border. There’s a ton of other cards that get this treatment as well.
Tovolar, Dire Overlord
Our one true Werewolf commander has been previewed, meet Tovolar, Dire Olverlord / Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge. This is a great card for Werewolf / Wolf tribal. At 3 mana, this comes down nice and early, and when he flips, he has a

attached to him. Tovolar is getting the Equinox Showcase frame treatment as well, which looks really cool.
Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia
Our first Zombie focused card is

At the beginning of your end step, if you control no creatures with decayed, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token with decayed. (It can't block. When it attacks, sacrifice it at end of combat.)
. With it comes a new Zombie Mechanic, Decayed. With Jadar, we see the 2nd Showcase frame, the Eternal Night frame. We’ve seen this treatment on the basic lands as well, but this art style pays homage to old monster movie posters. The detail in this art is really something to behold, and portrays the gritty nature of the card and theme of the plane so well.

Humans you control get +1/+1.
Coven — Whenever Sigarda attacks, if you control three or more creatures with different powers, look at the top five cards of your library. You may reveal a Human creature card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
. We also get to see another new mechanic here in Coven. Sigarda is also getting the Eternal Night art treatment, and honestly both arts are incredible. This card though looks like a really great top end for a Humans deck, not having a heavy green requirement, and having a respectable stat line.

Other New Mechanics Cards
A couple new cards here with some mechanics were also previewed. Beloved Beggar showcases the Disturb mechanic, and Secrets of the Key has a couple returning mechanics, Investigate and Flashback. Nothing super exciting here, but the mechanics are very cool. You can learn more about these mechanics and the others here.

Lands
The last cool thing we got to see in the stream is the allied color “Slow Lands”. Contrasted to the “Fast Lands” cycle from Scars of Mirrodin and Kaladesh, these lands enter the battlefield untapped if you control 2 or more other lands. These are a strict upgrade to the “Battle lands” from Battle for Zendikar.
